Recipe Of The Month

Meringue Tarts with Strawberries

Ingredients :
Desserts, Low-fat
1 c Sugar
1/2 tsp Baking powder
1/8 tsp Salt
3 ea Egg whites
1 tsp Vanilla
1 tsp Vinegar
1 tsp Water
1 ea Fresh sliced strawberries

Sift the sugar with the baking powder and salt. Combine the egg whites, vanilla, vinegar, and water.

Add the sugar mixture, 1/2 teaspoon at a time, to the egg whites, alternating with a few drops of the liquid, beating constantly.

When all combined, continue to beat for several minutes. Place large spoonfuls on baking sheet and shape into shallow cups.

Bake at 225 degrees F. for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Remove the meringues form the sheet quickly and cool them on rack.

Fill with the strawberries.

Famous Quotes

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.

I love thee to the depth and breadth and height

My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight

For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.

I love thee to the level of every day's

Most quiet need; by sun and candle-light.

I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;

I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.

I love thee with the passion put to use

In my old grief's, and with my childhood's faith

I love thee with a love I seemed to lose

With my lost saints,--I love thee with the breath.

Smiles, tears, of all my life!--and, if God choose,

I shall but love thee better after death.

Elizabeth Barrett Browning
